Configuring Plant Hours
Before Plant Hours Records can be used to their full value, Jobs and Account Codes need to be set up so operators can attribute asset use to the correct activity or cost centre. Both are optional — a Plant Hours Record can be saved without one — but selecting a Job or Account Code is what enables cost allocation and reporting.

Jobs and Account Codes
Jobs and Account Codes are the two ways of attributing the cost of asset use to external work or financial systems.

Both can be selected on a Plant Hours Record from the Job/Account Code field. Operators can also create a new Job directly while completing a Plant Hours Record.

Account Code Types
Account Code Types are used to filter which Account Codes appear in different parts of the application. For example, a type of "Plant Allocation" could be created and assigned to the Plant Hours Account Code field — so only relevant codes appear when operators are creating records.
Account Code Types are configured by Formbird Support. Contact support to set these up for your environment.
Operator Access
By default, Operators can create Plant Hours Records directly from the Operator homepage. If your organisation needs to restrict this — for example, to have only Supervisors or Technicians manage plant allocation — this can be disabled. Contact Formbird Support to change this setting.
