Safety Tags
Safety Tags are used to flag an asset with a safety issue that all users should be aware of. They are designed to supplement — not replace — an organisation's physical tag-out process. A physical tag remains necessary as a safeguard in case an operator accesses the asset without using the application.
When an active Safety Tag exists on an asset, warning banners are shown throughout the application to ensure the issue is visible before the asset is used.
Where Safety Tags Are Visible
While an asset has an active Safety Tag, warning banners appear in:
- The asset record itself.
- Daily Driver Check Sheets for that asset — operators are warned before completing a pre-start.
- Job Requests for the asset — workshop staff see the tag when working on related requests.
Creating a Safety Tag
Safety Tags can be created from three places in the application:
- The asset record — via the Create Requests, Daily Drivers and Work Orders panel on the asset.
- Any Request for the asset — making it easy for workshop staff to tag out while managing a fault.
- A Daily Driver Check Sheet — allowing operators to flag an issue immediately during a pre-start.
From any of these locations:
- Select Add a new child document under the Safety Tags table.
- Select New Safety Tag. The document opens below the table with most fields pre-filled.
- Enter a Reason for the tag-out.
- Save using the Save Tick in the top left corner.
Removing a Safety Tag
Once the issue has been resolved, the Safety Tag must be marked as inactive to clear the warning banners.
- Navigate to the active Safety Tag. It can be found in the Safety Tags table on the asset, the relevant Request, or the Daily Driver that created it.
- Open the tag:
- To open it inline, select anywhere on the row in the table except the name link.
- To open it in a full window, select the name link in the row.
- Tick the Removal Approved checkbox. This records the approving user and the date and time of approval.
- Save using the Save Tick. The tag status changes to Inactive and warning banners are removed.
