Document History
Every document in Formbird FLEET has a complete version history automatically maintained by the platform. This history can be used for auditing, security review, and recovery purposes.
Accessing the Audit History
The audit view for any document is accessed directly from the browser.
- Navigate to the document you want to inspect.
- In the browser URL bar, select the word
formin the URL. - Type
auditin its place and press Enter.
The audit history view will load, showing all saved versions of that document.
Navigating Version History
- Drag the circle along the timeline bar to move through versions chronologically.
- Select a version ID heading on the left or right side to pin a specific version for comparison.
- With two versions selected, the view highlights differences between them:

|---|---|
| Green | A value has been added |
| Yellow | A value has changed |
| Red | A value has been deleted |
Identifying Who Saved a Version
Each version records the document ID of the user account that saved it in the createdBy field.
- In the audit view, locate the
createdByfield and note the document ID value. - Open a new browser tab and navigate to Formbird FLEET.
- In the URL bar of the new tab, replace the document ID in the URL with the
createdByvalue. - Press Enter. The user account that saved that version will load.
Deleted Documents
Locating a deleted document from the front end is not straightforward unless you know its unique document ID. Any deleted document can be reinstated with Formbird Support assistance.
To request recovery, provide as many of the following as possible:
- The document ID (visible in the URL when the document was open)
- The approximate date and time it was created
- A key value on the document (date, dollar amount, asset name, etc.)
- The document type (Fuel Receipt, Asset, Request, etc.)
