Configuring Fuel Tankers
Bulk Fuel Transactions record fuel dispensed to assets from internally owned tanks. Before transactions can be recorded, each tank must be set up as a Material in Formbird FLEET with a category of Fuel Tank.
Tanks can be fixed or mobile — a tank mounted on a truck or trailer is configured the same way as a fixed site tank.
For instructions on recording transactions once tanks are configured, see Recording Bulk Fuel Transactions.
Creating a Fuel Tank Material
- From the System Administrator Menu, navigate to Parts / Materials.
- Select New Material.
- Complete the standard Material fields — name, unit of measure, and any other relevant details.
- In the Category field, select Fuel Tank. This is required for the material to appear in the Fuel dispensed from field on a Bulk Fuel Transaction.
- Ensure the Active checkbox is ticked.
- Save the changes.
Once saved, the tank appears as an option when recording bulk fuel transactions.
Managing Tank Stock Levels
Because fuel tanks are set up as Materials, you can manage stock levels and track when tanks need replenishing using the same stock management tools available for other materials. See Materials for more detail.
