Work Order Configuration
The Work Order Configuration document controls which panels and fields are visible on each work order type across your site, and which maintenance code fields mechanics must complete before saving a work order. There is one Work Order Configuration document per site.
Use this article as a reference when adjusting what appears on a particular work order — for example, to hide fields your organisation does not use, or to show additional fields that have been enabled.

Navigating to Work Order Configuration
- From the Administrator homepage, select the Configuration dropdown.
- Select Work Order Field Visibility Configuration.
How Visibility Works
The configuration document is divided into sections — one for each work order type. Each section lists two groups of toggles:
- Panels — the collapsible sections that group related content on the work order
- Fields — the individual data fields within those panels
Turning a panel or field on makes it visible when a user opens that type of work order. Turning it off hides it.
Important: A field only appears if its panel is also set to visible. If you enable a field but its panel is hidden, the field will not show — even if the field itself is turned on. Always check that the relevant panel is visible before enabling fields within it.
The Assignment and Status panel — which contains the workshop, assignee, work order status, and status date fields — cannot be hidden. However, individual fields within it (such as Create Time Recorder) can still be toggled on or off through the field visibility settings.
Mandatory Maintenance Code Fields
Three checkboxes at the top of the configuration document make maintenance code fields mandatory on Repair Work Orders. When enabled, the mechanic must select a value before the work order can be marked complete.

These settings apply to all Repair Work Orders on the site, regardless of which configuration is active.
Mandate Request
The Mandate Request checkbox controls whether a request must exist before a work order can be created.
When enabled, work orders can only be created from within an existing request. When disabled, work orders can be created directly — without a parent request — allowing work to be recorded without going through the full request workflow first.

Records the details of repairs, modifications, or general work carried out on an asset.

Asset Verification Work Order
Records the verification of an asset's location, condition, and registration details. Used under an Asset Verification Inspection Request. See Verification.

Note: The Asset Verification Work Order uses a different panel structure from other work order types. The main record fields sit in the Verification Inspection Record panel, and the inspection findings sit in the Details panel — neither of these panels appears in the configuration document, so they are always visible.
